I'm very excited to announce that I am streaming on Twitch! Join me on Fridays from 10 am to 1 pm (Pacific Standard Time) as I craft my way through a mountain of unfinished projects. May contain: crochet, collage, clay, metalworking, occasional cat interruptions, chats, chill vibes.
First Stream- January 3rd, 2025
This will be a bit of a trial stream to make sure everything is working properly. I will be Crocheting the first 13 rounds of Sophie's Universe mandala blanket. Sophie's Universe, not to be confused with Sophie's Choice, was a crochet-a-long pattern released in 2015 by designer Dedri Uys. You can find the pattern here if you want to make one too.
Some friends and I are doing the crochet-a-long together and I decided to make mine with itty-bitty thread and livestream the process. To make it a little more interesting, I'll use a six-sided die to choose the colors for each round randomly. Pictured is a sample I did of the first three rounds.
Next Stream and Beyond
On the next WIP Stream, January 10th, I will gather up all of my unfinished projects from every nook and cranny in my house, show each one on stream, and discuss what needs to be done to finish. This will be an excellent opportunity for viewers to let me know if any particular project is something they would especially like to see. After that, the WIP Streams will consist of me working on finishing those projects, and any new ones I add to the pile (I'll try not to add more until I cut the list down drastically). Some of these streams will be edited and added to my YouTube channel, too.
Future Stream Plans
After the WIP Stream is established and I get more comfortable, I'll add a coworking stream to the schedule. The coworking stream will be a chill place where we can gather to do focused work in a supportive environment. I will have a system for reminding us to take breaks, a checklist so people can add their own tasks, and a spider-cam so viewers can see what Auntie Whispers is up to (usually she's just chillin' out in the open). I'd love to incorporate cat breaks in the streams, where I find Riot and play with him for a bit, but I'm unsure if he'll cooperate.
Once I've established a good flow with the coworking stream, I'll do some gaming when the work is done. Unfortunately, my 10-year-old computer might not be able to handle it, so games may be a long way down the road if I can't make it work.
Please, stop by one of my streams and say hi! I can't wait to share my work with you and would love to discuss your favorite spooky movie or book, tarantulas, or what kinds of projects you're working on.
